BACHE, Okla. -- Emergency rescue crews saved a deer that was stuck in an icy Pittsburg County pond Friday morning.

A landowner contacted Pittsburg County Game Warden Shane Fields about the deer that was stuck.

Fields contacted emergency management officials and the Pittsburg County Water Rescue team, McAlester Fire Department and McAlester Army Ammunition Plant Fire Department responded to the scene.

The rescuers set off into the water and saved the deer. Officials made sure the deer was in good health, and released it, where it was last seen running toward a nearby wood line.
