VIDEO: TX robbery could be linked to Eufaula

IRVING, TX. – Investigators from Texas are working together with OSBI to determine if the suspect involved in the deadly Eufaula bank robbery was also linked to a robbery in Irving.

Authorities in Texas, along with OSBI, are trying to discover if Cedric Norris was the same suspect who assaulted a person just days before the deadly Eufaula bank robbery and shootout that left Norris and a bank employee dead as well as two others injured.

The Irving Police Dept. released surveillance video from Jan. 19 around 12:23 a.m. that shows a person entering a convenience store and robbing an employee at gunpoint.

Irving police say the suspect demanded the employee’s car keys and when the employee refused, the suspect starting stealing merchandise. During the robbery, according to Irving police, the suspect grabbed a metal baseball bat and hit the employee with it repeatedly.

The suspect then reportedly left the store in the employee’s vehicle. The employee was taken to a local hospital and treated for serious head injuries

OBSI contacted Irving detectives on Thursday and let them know that the suspect involved in the Eufaula robbery had been driving the stolen vehicle.

Now detectives are working together to determine if Norris was also responsible for the aggravated robbery in Irving.
