A veteran’s support group latest fundraiser might sound a little bizarre.
The Barracks in Muskogee came up with a campaign to replace more than two dozen broken toilets after vandals hit their new home.
The toilet fundraising effort is circulating all over social media.
'Operation Porcelain Reclamation' is underway to get the commercial-grade toilets purchased.
It sounds funny to hold a donation drive for toilets, but at The Barracks, its goal is to be a transitional home for homeless vets
“People were supportive, it made them laugh,” said Shawn Messer, with The Barracks.
“Right now we’re sitting at half of our goal and our goal is $6,000.”
The Barracks reported its received donations from all over the community and hopes to get those toilets replaced soon in time to open sometime this summer.
