Mayor G.T. Bynum, along with Public Service Company of Oklahoma and the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, joined together for Shine a Light 2019.
The organizations are giving away more than 75,000 LED bulbs to families in need.
Local food pantries as well as volunteers came together to help package the bulbs.
The mayor says it's a unique way to help families.
"By providing more efficient energy for their homes through LED light bulbs we are able to bring down their household cost which then frees up more money for them to buy groceries," said Mayor G.T. Bynum
The light bulbs will be distributed through food banks all throughout Green Country.
