Update: Tulsa Police using help from headquarters to deal with patrol officer shortage

We told you back in August about a plan to deal with the Tulsa Police Department's officer shortage on patrol.

Roughly 90 officers who currently work in downtown headquarters as detectives and administrators are returning to the streets to help out officers.

Help is on the way, Tulsa Police are currently training 30 cadets and Vision funding is trickling in to hire more officers.

TPD said officers from headquarters are working on weekly rotations supporting patrol.
