Univ. of Oklahoma To Study Coronavirus

Meanwhile, Oklahoma is joining the fight against Coronavirus.

NASA is awarding the University of Oklahoma a $730,000 grant to study infectious disease threats in Asia, including the Coronavirus.

The group hopes to use satellite images to identify potential hotspots.

Tassie Hirschfeld, Professor of Anthropology says, "And also to identify how urbanization will change that human animal interface and the likelihood of humans being affected by novel or emerging pathogens."

Officials are hoping the research will lead to more information sharing with organizations across central Asia.
