OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The unemployment rate rose in 66 of Oklahoma's 77 counties from December to January according to the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.
The county report released Friday shows the lowest unemployment rates in the state in the Panhandle and the highest in the southeast.
Cimarron County had the lowest rate at 2.3 percent, followed by Beaver County at 2.6 percent. The highest rate is in McIntosh County at 8.7 percent with Haskell and Latimer counties at 7.8 percent each.
Oklahoma County's jobless rate was at 3.7 percent, up from 3.4 percent in December. Tulsa County had 4 percent unemployment, up from 3.8 percent.
The Oklahoma City metro area had a 3.6 percent unemployment rate, while the rate was 4.3 percent in the Tulsa metro and 4.2 percent in the Lawton metro.
