TULSA — You don't need to book plane tickets to get a little taste of Greece this weekend.

Preparations are underway right now for the 59th Annual Tulsa Greek Festival.

The festival starts at noon on Thursday, Sept. 19 and ends Sunday, Sept. 22 until 11:30 p.m.

Officials with the Greek Festival say the community will be able to sample traditional Greek dishes including gyros, souvlaki, spanikopita, tiropita and more.

Some of the bakery items offered will be baklava, finikia and loukomades.

The community will be able to see dancers of all ages in ethnic costume perform customary dances throughout the festival.

The Tulsa Greek Festival will take place at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, located at 1222 South Guthrie Avenue.
