As many of us spend Christmas Eve with our families, others scrambled to finish their shopping.
And they waited until the very last minutes.
Santa is finishing his last-minute preparations for Christmas, and he had good company in Tulsa on Thursday. Hundreds finished up their holiday shopping just hours before the big day.
“This is what last-minute shopping looks like!” said shopper Jasmine Christine.
It seems coming down to the wire is becoming somewhat of a new Christmas tradition.
“Put on some crazy clothes and tough out the people,” said Christine.
“I guess everybody thought the inflation wasn't going to kill anybody so it's good,” said shopper Richard Dixon.
Some are searching for practical gifts.
“Hats like this...2 dollars sunglasses,” Said shopper Alan Hoover.
Others are letting recipients decide.
“I already have it planned out in my head because I'm pretty simple. I buy the gift cards and let them get what they like,” said Dixon.
Even though Tulsa shoppers may have procrastinated a bit, they know the spirit of the season isn't found on a store shelf.
“People give, that's the biggest thing is people giving. It's better to give than to receive,” said shopper Sabrina Shelton.
If you still have some shopping to do, you might be out of luck. Most stores have closed for the holiday and won't reopen until the weekend.
