Depending on what part of the city someone lives, they're likely to have different views on the police department's relationship with the public and the Dallas shootings.
James Orr is a stylist atZ Studio in Brookside. He said he's saddened by the attacks in Texas.
"I just think it's a terrible tragedy. I think it's awful," Orr said."But you're not shocked by it because every day on the news it's something different."
James Simpson owns Kut Me Up Barber Shop in North Tulsa. He also said the attack didn't shock him.
"Innocent people getting killed and now people trying to kill cops. Nothing surprises me anymore," Simpson said.
Both men agree the Dallas shooting is a tragedy, but they have different views of law enforcement..
"I hear people have a lot of bad incidents [with police]. But then I turned around and driving this weekend, I see troopers changing tires for people along the highway," Orr said.
"Police [are] not trusted in the Black community," Simpson said. "When we get pulled over, they automatically come up to the car with their hands on their guns. That's ridiculous."
The long list of officer-involved shootings of black men and now the attack on officers leave both men frustrated– they don't see any easy answers.
"Change definitely in the way police handle situations. Maybe the reactions that people have with police," Orr said.
"You won't get [anything] out of killing cops," Simpson said. "But cops killing black folks, you won't get [anything] out of that either."
