A Tulsa Public Schools third-grade teacher is out of the classroom after his arrest on several sex crimes charges.
Police say Brian Banfield was booked in the Tulsa County jail Sunday morning and is accused of grabbing a woman by her privates at a bar.
The Eliot Elementary school teacher is also accused of threatening to kill officers.
TPS spokesperson Emma Garrett-Nelson released this statement on Banfield’s arrest:
“We are aware of the arrest and await additional information from law enforcement authorities. Though the information we have received to date indicates that the complaint does not involve students or any acts on school property, we can state that he is not currently working in the classroom. Other details or information regarding his employment are confidential personnel information that we cannot comment on.”
