TULSA, Okla. — Montereau, a retirement community in south Tulsa, wants to get residents in the holiday spirit.
The dining services team built and decorated three giant gingerbread houses for the residents to enjoy throughout December. The gingerbread houses were assembled live so the residents and their families could watch the entire process.
"We got about 100 pounds of powdered sugar," said one of the decorators. "The house will weigh between five and 700 pounds and over 200 gingerbread bricks. So, about 50 pounds of gingerbread."

Montereau said it decided to add the houses to lift people's spirits and kick off the holidays a little differently. Organizers told 2 Works for You they followed CDC Guidelines to ensure a safe and fun event.
