TULSA — The Tulsa Police Department will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint this Saturday in the Brookside/River Parks area.

TPD will conduct the checkpoint with assistance from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office and the Oklahoma Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement Commission.

Police say the checkpoint is an effort to get intoxicated drivers off the road and reduce injuries and deaths associated with alcohol and drug-impaired driving.

A first conviction for DUI carries imprisonment in jail of no less than 10 days and a fine of no more than $1,000.
