Posted

TULSA -- The Tulsa Police Department will be cracking down on speeding in school zones in May and drivers could get a hefty ticket.

TPD's Riverside and Gilcrease divisions will focus on "posted speed violations and hazardous moving violations" in active school zones in north, south and west Tulsa.

A citation for school zone speeding requires a court appearance and a fine of up to $500 and/or up to 30 days in jail.

No warnings will be issued, police said.
