TULSA -- A 13-year-old was arrested in Tulsa after police say he allegedly shot at a deputy with a BB gun early Tuesday morning.

Police say a Tulsa County deputy was working off-duty at Walmart on Memorial Drive when the juvenile suspect was seen sneaking out of the store with a backpack full of stolen goods.

After approaching the teen, the deputy was allegedly shot at. After a brief chase, the deputy was able to take the teen into custody without shots being fired by the deputy.

Upon further investigation, deputies learned the BB gun used to shoot at the deputy was stolen from the store.

The 13-year-old was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon and grand larceny.
