TULSA, Okla. — With Tulsa's new mask mandate, Tulsa police are working to clear up enforcement details.

The Tulsa City Council approved the citywide mask ordinance on Wednesday evening and then Mayor G.T. Bynum signed the ordinance into effect on Thursday morning.

In a Facebook post, the department said it's seeking a legal opinion on the nuances of the ordinance, because the order limits enforcement by police.

TPD said it will continue to respond to and enforce trespassing violations if someone does not leave a business or private property.

However, until they get a legal opinion, officers won't be dispatched to face covering or social distance issues alone or to calls not made by the property or business owner.
