TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police say an 18-year-old man was shot by his mother's boyfriend late Friday afternoon.
The shooting took place in the 8900 block of East 49th Street, where police arrived to find the victim lying in the driveway with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in surgery. He is in serious condition, but he is expected to survive, officials say.
Police say the teen's mother was able to identify the shooter as her boyfriend and said the shooting took place in the bedroom of the home. The suspect was armed with a pistol before he fled, she told police.
K9 units were searching for him earlier, and he still is at large, according to investigators. He is described as a 40-year-old black male dressed in a striped red, white and black polo-style shirt.
