Bus crashes into SUV in midtown Tulsa

TULSA -No injuries were reported after a school bus hit an SUV in midtown Tulsa Tuesday morning.

Authorities say it happened on the off ramp near 51st Street and Lewis Avenue.

A woman driving a Ford Explorer pulled out of a Walgreens parking lot after being waved on by another driver. Police report that the woman crossed two lanes and didn't see a school bus approaching. The vehicle was struck by the school bus.

The woman driving the SUV was checked out by EMSA and released.

Police confirm that 32 students from Edison Schools were on board the bus at the time of the crash.

A wrecker was called to remove the school bus from the road according to authorities.

Officials say another bus was also called to take the children to school. No students were injured.

The driver of the Ford Explorer was cited for unsafely emerging.
