TULSA, OK (KJRH) — Tulsa police are looking for a man they say is a repeat mail thief. Neighbors say they've had to be on alert for the past couple years, many of whom have installed home security cameras to keep an eye out.

Phyllis Nethercot has lived in the 51st and Lewis area for 42 years. She says in the past couple years, porch piracy and mail theft have become a big issue, so she says every time delivery trucks drive by, she keeps an eye on her neighbor's porches.

"Most of us let someone else in the neighborhood pick up their packages," Nethercot said, "or if it's by FedEx we send them to the FedEx location on Riverside."

Tulsa Police say a suspect has hit homes at 51st and Lewis, 21st and Lewis, and 31st and Cincinnati. A victim's camera caught the suspect in the act, which police say is leading them to identify the person responsible.

Police say those home cameras have made identifying suspects much easier, helping match them with each crime they've committed.

If you have information about the porch pirate suspect or any crime in your community, you can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 918-596-2677.
