Tulsa Police: Looking for hit-and-run driver, identified victim

TULSA — According to Tulsa police, officers responded to a auto-pedestrian hit-and-run incident on Oct. 5 in the area of North Yale Avenue between East Pine Street and East Admiral Boulevard.

Police say when officers arrived they discovered a deceased man on the east side of the road.

Tuesday, Police say they identified the victim as Gary Peterson.

After interviewing several witnesses, police say, it appears Peterson was walking home from a church food bank with bags of groceries.

Police say as the victim crossed the street, he was struck by a vehicle going northbound.

Witnesses described the vehicle as a black Chrysler 300, police say. The Chrysler was seen driving all over the road, hitting curbs and speeding, prior to the collision.

Police say the suspect vehicle will have damage to the right from and/or side.
