TULSA — Tulsa police are investigating after they say one person was shot near 41st and Yale Avenue.

Police said multiple shots were fired.

Police located the victim, Trevor Whittner, in a courtyard area with gunshot wounds to the shin and stomach. Whittner was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police located the suspect, Cory Fields, on a second floor balcony. Fields cooperated with police and said the victim came to his door to confront him with a gun. Fields told police after a struggle he got the gun from the victim and shot him and continued to shoot as the victim ran down the stairs.

It is unknown if charges will be filed, police said.
