Tulsa police responded to a shooting that turned into a standoff in midtown Friday evening.
Police say they are working to get a suspect out of a motel room at the Desert Hills motel near 11th and Yale. Police say they were called to the area around 6 p.m. after someone driving by was shot in the head.
Police say they don’t know if that shooting was targeted or if it was just unlucky.
Police say the suspect wouldn't come out of the motel room as they’ve tried to communicate with him. He fired several shots at them from what sounded like both a rifle and a pistol.
Police say a woman, who was in the room with the suspect, did come out of the room, and she’s in custody.
