A man is dead, and another is in custody after a stabbing at the splash pad near 41st and Riverside Tuesday night.
Tulsa police officers said they responded to the area around 8:13 p.m. and found a 71-year-old man dead from a stab wound to the torso just north of the 41st Street Plaza.
Witnesses told police the suspect, Jeffery Anderson, was arguing with the victim prior to the assault.
TPD officers attempted to track the suspect with a K-9, but the large number of people in the area made it difficult.
Shortly after, officers spotted Anderson walking out of the woods in a nonchalant manner.
TPD arrested Anderson based on his matching witness descriptions.
Anderson is a tribal member, so he's been placed on an FBI hold. TPD said this is to ensure prosecution is handled properly.
Anderson is accused of murder.
