TULSA - A brutal break-in in south Tulsa leaves one man dead and a woman fighting for her life.

Police found the apartment ransacked, but they say not all the damage is new.
"Before today it's been vandalized a bunch of, it's a messy apartment, lot's of holes in the sheetrock, so something definitely going on inside, " said Walker.
Witnesses say they had seen lots of people in and out of the apartment recently, leaving neighbors ready to see crime leave the complex once and for all.
"You'd think this would be a nice part of time, crime is everywhere," said Heitgrass. "Our prayers, our thoughts and prayers are with them, hopefully they'll come out of this OK.
