TULSA - Tulsa Homicide detectives are investigating a homicide, Tulsa's 54th of the year, at Ivy Place Apartments on 139 N. Garnett Rd.

Sgt. David Walker, Tulsa Police Department homicide detective, says Police received a call about 10:24 Saturday morning, with someone reporting a woman dead inside an apartment within the complex, stabbed to death.

According to police reports, first responders arrived and found a 57 year old female dead.  The victim was inside the apartment and lying on the floor.  We are treating this as a homicide, Sgt. Walker said.

The Medical Examiner arrived and confirmed that the woman will be a homicide victim.  At this time there is no motive or suspects.  The apartment did not appear to have been ransacked but there were signs of a slight struggle.

Family members identified the woman as Felicia Levern Jones.

Her son, Rico Markham said she was a supportive and loving mother.

”She was so clean and meticulous. Great cook. Had us in church every Sunday, every Wednesday. I mean like I said, my mother wasn’t perfect, she was my hero man. I don’t say that because she’s gone now either,” said Markham.

Police believe Jones was seen last Thursday.

Police urge anyone who knows what happened to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS. Callers and leave a tip and choose to remain anonymous.
