Tulsa Police Department cancels DUI checkpoint

CANCELED: Police say this sobriety checkpoint has been canceled.

Tulsa Police Department officers will be holding a sobriety checkpoint this weekend.

TPD's Riverside Division Traffic Unit, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Tulsa County Sheriff's Office and Oklahoma Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement Commission will all take part in the checkpoint, which will be in the Brookside/River Parks area.

The checkpoint is an effort to get intoxicated drivers off the road.

A first conviction for DUI caries an imprisonment of a minimum of 10 days in jail and up tp a year in jail.
