Tulsa Police arrest two in a stolen vehicle after a short pursuit

TULSA--Riverside Division officers arrested two people in a stolen vehicle after a short pursuit that ended near the 1700 block of East 51st Street shortly after 11pm on Sunday.

A gray 2017 Ford F150 Raptor pickup had been reported stolen in Tulsa on Saturday. Tulsa Police ocated the truck at 1500 West 61st Street and attempted to stop it..

Police say the truck entered US Hwy 75 northbound at high speed and attempted to elude officers.

TPD says the pursuit turned east on I-44 and ended when the truck crossed the curb and grass to exit the highway near South Utica Avenue where it struck some small trees and a sound wall on the south side of I-44.

Police say the driver, Nicholas Elder, 33, fled on foot into a nearby apartment complex but was arrested quickly.

According to TPD, the passenger, Jimmy Hoover, 37, attempted to flee on foot but surrendered to officers arriving to assist.

Officers say the stolen vehicle sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene.

Elder was arrested for driving the stolen vehicle.

In addition, Elder had four felony warrants, one misdemeanor criminal warrant and four traffic warrants.

One of the felony warrants was for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

Hoover was arrested on a felony warrant for Possession of Stolen Vehicle.

No one was injured during the pursuit and collision.
