Tulsa police arrested a man for possession of a stolen vehicle after a short chase in north Tulsa.
Tulsa Police Officer Matt Rose says police observed a car driving suspiciously near I-244 and North Sheridan Road late Monday night.
After running the vehicle’s tag number, it came back stolen out of Sapulpa.
Police attempted to stop the driver, later identified as 30-year-old Everet Warren.
Warren fled police. Rose says he tried to get on I-244, but the ramps are closed due to construction in the area.
Instead, Warren continued southbound on Sheridan before turning east on Admiral Place.
"Luckily at this time of night traffic is minimal. We didn't have any issue with that. We had our two officers attempting to pull the vehicle over. And like I said, as soon as he came from Memorial, he just pulled over to the right,” said Rose.
During the chase, Rose says Warren tossed a gun out of the car.
Police arrested Warren following a short chase in August. In that case, the car Warren was driving was not reported stolen, but his name did not appear on the registration of that car.
Warren faces a number of charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding police and possession of a firearm.
