TULSA - People around Green Country are falling for scammers pretending to be IRS agents.
Within several days, the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office received a dozen reports from citizens who are getting calls from apparent IRS agents.
The callers threaten those they contact with arrest if they don's pay back taxes and hand over sensitive banking information.
The IRS says the agency will never contact people over the phone. IRS agents also won't ask for credit card or banking information.
If the IRS does wish to contact people, they choose to do so through the mail.
