TULSA, Okla. -- Britney and Tommy Crawley were arrested for child neglect on Thursday.

Now neighbors like Carolyn Goforth tell 2 Works for You they wished they had spoken up.

"They're constantly screaming at their kids in the front yard, kids are unattended in the street playing, no shoes on. It was just... we decided it was something we couldn't associate with," Goforth said.

Tulsa Police said this all started back in May when a nine-year-old tried to give his sister a bath. When the cold water got stuck his two-year-old sister suffered second degree burns to her face, neck, ears and chest. Officer said even when the children were screaming, the parents never woke up.

"It was a big scene, we didn't really know what was happening until they pulled the little girl out from the home. She was pretty much limp in their arms. It was a very terrifying experience," Goforth said.

Goforth said as she watched the paramedic carry out the toddler's body she felt nothing but guilt, wishing she had stepped in to take action sooner.

"There were months where we didn't see the kids at all. They were locked in the house, unseen, and the only times they were seen is when they were unattended," she said.

Gofrtoh said after the toddler was air lifted for treatment in Texas, she's now living with her grandmother there and two siblings. The brother who found the toddler is in DHS custody.
