A Tulsa man was arrested Sunday morning after police say he shaved his head in an apparent attempt to avoid jail time.
Tulsa Police say officers tried to pull Verner over in a traffic stop near 61st and Peoria, but instead he accelerated and pulled into the parking lot at Greenbriar Apartments. Officers say Verner left his car and ran to nearby Pecan Creek Apartments.
Police say witnesses told them that Verner was inside in an apartment. When police called his name, Verner came out with a shaved head, and was taken into custody, Police say the suspect had a large amount of hair before he took off running.
TPD say they recovered a .45 caliber handgun and ammunition from the apartment and marijuana from Verner's car.
Verner was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on counts of drug possession, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm.
