TULSA, Okla. — Travel + Leisure magazine just released the top 10 trips for July.

Guess what city made the third spot? Tulsa, Oklahoma. This Green Country city attracts vacationers from around the country every year.

Outdoor lovers can find dozens of great hiking trails at Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness, and the Gathering Place offers a sprawling 70 acres for the family with playgrounds that inspire every imagination.

If the city life is more your scene, The Max is an ingenious 80’s themed bar with a giant mechanical Falcor from the film “The NeverEnding Story” and it features tons of vintage arcade video games. But if you're looking to go more upscale, The Mayo is an art deco style hotel with a rooftop bar offering 180 degree views of downtown Tulsa.

If art and culture is more your scene, then the Philbrook Museum of Art is your destination. Artwork from around the world is housed within a 1920’s Spanish Style mansion. The grounds are stunning. You will feel like you have stepped into a Jane Austen novel.

Finally, one of the most unique places in T-town is the "Center of the Universe”. It's located just off the corner of West Archer Street and North Boston Avenue and can be best described as an acoustic mystery. As you approach this landmark you will notice a circle of cement on the ground surrounded by a larger circle of bricks. When you stand in the middle and you speak, your echo comes back to you much louder. It is one of the strangest phenomenons.

Travel + Leisure placed Reno and Lake Tahoe, Nevada as the second best vacation spots for July.

Reno is known for its casinos and concert venues, and just an hour south lies Lake Tahoe. It's a popular spot for those seeking the ultimate lake experience.

The number one travel destination, goes to Newport, Rhode Island, which is located about three hours from the Big Apple.

Newport is a picturesque town on the water. Travelers can experience the character of this historic town on a tour of its 19 century mansions.

Rounding out the top 10 July destinations are:

4) Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel Island, Florida

5) Barnard, Vemont

6) Breckenridge, Aspen, and Vail, Colorado

7) Baltimore, Maryland

8) Charleston, South Carolina

9) Maui, Hawaii

10) Sante Fe, New Mexico
