TIA to enact no parking' along arrivals roadway

Posted

TULSA – If you’re planning to pick up someone from Tulsa International Airport (TIA), you might want to allot a few extra minutes in your travel time.

TIA is planning enact a “no parking” rule along the arrival pathways in front of the terminal building. Those picking up passengers will still be able to stop and load luggage but not actually park and wait for those arriving from their destination.

The change was prompted by the need of construction crews to close one lane of traffic in order to access the parking garage as they create a third level to the structure located across the street from the terminal.

Because of this move, the number of lanes will be reduced along the roadway leaving just two lanes for traffic and one lane for those waiting to pick up a passenger.

Additional options will be offered to those picking up friends or family: park free of charge in the cell phone lot located northeast of the Hilton Garden Inn hotel or park in the airport’s short-term parking lot located across the street from baggage claim. The first 30 minutes are $1 and extended stays are $2 per hour.
