TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa International Airport is getting a runway makeover.
The Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust was awarded nearly $12 million in contracts for work on the west runway, according to TIA officials.
Officials are working to improve the pavement and bring the runway safety areas up to current standards by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Our team is excited to get this project moving in order to provide a higher quality runway surface for our users on the west side of our airfield. This is the first major rehab project on this runway in more than 25 years and to be able to upgrade all aspects of the runway and NAVAIDS will no doubt increase the utilization for our customers.

They are also adding new runway lighting and signs.
Construction should start in May 2021 and end by October 2021.
