TULSA – An inmate at the Tulsa County Jail was pronounced dead this week after being found unresponsive in a cell.

Authorities say Nathan Bradshaw was discovered unresponsive in his jail cell Sunday around midnight. Officials say Bradshaw attempted to commit suicide.

"From a sheriff's office point of view, I want to remain very respectful to the family who is in mourning. I don't want to add to their grief," said Michelle Robinette, interim Tulsa County sheriff.

Jail and medical staff attempted to render aid and eventually Bradshaw was transported to a local hospital.

Bradshaw was booked March 8, 2016 on charges of failure to appear at drug court on a grand larceny charge.

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office is conducting an internal review of the situation, ultimately waiting on the medical examiner's autopsy report.
