TULSA — The Tulsa Health Department wants to remind parents of children entering kindergarten or the 7th grade that now is a good time to visit immunization clinics to avoid the back-to-school rush.

There are no new requirements for the 2019-20 school year.

“The immunization clinics get very busy as the first day of school approaches,” said Priscilla Haynes, Tulsa Health Department division chief of preventive health services. “We encourage families to immunize their children now while there is little to no wait time in the clinics. Immunizations are one of the best ways to protect the health of your child against vaccine-preventable diseases.”

Parents and legal guardians can request immunization records electronically here.

Officials say they typically see a rush of parents working to get their children vaccinated in August.
