TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa Fire Department is investigating after a man died in an apartment fire at Prescott Woods located on 60th and Peoria.

On Thursday morning, firefighters responded to the scene and found the victim unresponsive and without a pulse. They performed CPR and transported the man to the hospital where he later died.

Officials are looking into the cause, but they believe the fire started in the kitchen. They say the man was heating up food on the stove and somehow it caught on fire.

When firefighters arrived, they found the apartment filled with smoke.

At this time, the man's identity hasn't been released.
