According to Julie Lynn, the Tulsa Fire Department's Training Chief, 26 cadets climbed an 80-foot ladder today at the Tulsa Fire Department headquarters.

Officials say the ladder climb is one of the last things the cadets have to do before being hired.

Before climbing the 80-foot ladder, candidates had to pass the written test and physical training as well.

Once hired, cadets will start the next training academy in November, which will last five months.

The fire department usually has two academies per year.
