Tulsa fire crews investigate possible arson in Cherry Street fire

Posted

TULSA-- Investigators are trying to figure out if a fire on Cherry Street was intentionally started.

Crews responded to the "Cherry Street Square" at 15th and Trenton just before 7am Thursday.

Fire crews found heavy smoke coming from the building when they arrived.

Firefighters say they got the fire under control quickly, and kept the damage to just one room of the leasing office.

Crews also found a broken window to that room, but it's not clear if the window was broken during or before the fire.

"Looks like some people might have been messing around back there so we're going to have an investigator look at it and see what caused it," said fire Captain Stan May.

The building sustained heavy smoke damage. No one was injured.
