TULSA, Okla. — 50 Tulsa families received a special surprise Monday thanks to an anonymous donor and the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office.

An anonymous donor gave the sheriff's office $5,000 in Visa gift cards to hand out to those in the community who need it most. Deputies went around Tulsa giving the gift cards out.

“I know it definitely makes me feel a lot better to hopefully make a difference in people’s lives, especially for the children," said TCSO Deputy Chris Cherry. "Hopefully provide a little bit better Christmas for them.”

Deputies also gave children a backpack full of various items.
