TULSA -- A Tulsa County Sheriff's Office deputy was arrested after officials said he stole a dog from a yard.

Deputy Justin Kaczynski was charged with felony larceny. Officials said he took the dog from a home on Sept. 25. Kaczynski was placed on paid administrative leave on Sept. 28, and now that charges have been filed, he is on unpaid leave.

Kaczynski was hired as a detention officer in 2006, and was promoted to the rank of deputy in 2012.

Kaczynski is the second employee of the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office to be arrested this week.

The Sheriff's Office released the following statement:

“It’s important that TCSO maintain the high standards expected of law enforcement”, says Sheriff Vic Regalado. “We will vigorously investigate any betrayal of the public’s trust by one of our employees.”
