Tulsa Junior College, a school many Oklahomans now know as Tulsa Community College.

The first school to pilot dual enrollment in Oklahoma, and home to many successful professional locals across the state.

TCC is the largest two year college in Oklahoma, and they are celebrating it's 49th birthday this weekend.

Tulsa Junior College's first graduating class size was eleven.

Now Tulsa Community College serves around twenty-four to twenty-five thousand students a year.

Offering thirty-eight degree programs and thirty-seven certificate programs.

Monica Champ, a Tulsa Junior College graduate, tells us, “I went to school to become a professional secretary at TJC. And of course now that degree doesn’t even exist, that’s how much times have changed. People don’t go to school to learn typing or short hand, or anything like that.”

Champ says Tulsa Community College is nothing like it was in the earlier days of the college. That although things have changed, they have done so for the better.

She remembers a time when she stood in line all day just to enroll.
