TULSA, Okla. — The Paycheck Protection Program is a lifeline for businesses during the coronavirus pandemic. Data shows 1,456 businesses in Tulsa received PPP loans. The numbers combined show these loans saved around 78,000 jobs.
17 Tulsa-based companies received between $5-10 million —the largest amount available by the SBA.
The companies who took PPP loans with the most jobs saved are listed as the following:
- Bama Companies
- Rib Crib BBQ
- Osage Nation Gaming Enterprises
- GDH Consulting
Each of those companies was able to retain 500 local jobs thanks to PPP funds. Businesses were not the only ones to receive the money.
Local religious organizations and non-profits also applied. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Tulsa, Victory Christian Center and Willie George Ministries also received PPP funding between $2-5 million — all-together citing 771 jobs saved.
So far— the SBA and the Trump administration reports $132 billion in remaining funding and said the states that received the most money so fa are California, Texas and New York.
