TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Area United Way is offering free tax preparations to families with an income of $55,000 or less starting February 1.
They'll have five different sites with trained volunteers ready to assist.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) helped 2,456 people in preparing and filing their 2017 income tax returns.
Program manager at the Tulsa United Area Way, Furzanna Iqbal, says they're in need of more volunteers to help with the tax season, especially bilingual speakers. So far, they only have one bilingual volunteer.
If you're interested in volunteering or need more information about the program, you can call 918-295-6679 or visit their VITA website.
New volunteer training takes place on January 14 and 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. and January 19 and 26 from 9 a.m to 1 p.m.
