TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist announced the district experienced their first COVID-19 related death during a virtual board meeting on Monday.
Gist said Michael Angelo was a part of the district's operations team. Gist said Angelo passed away with COVID-19.
Violet Angelo, Michael's wife, is a custodian in the district and also had COVID-19 but has since recovered.
Gist said during the meeting "Our team is holding up a family, the Angelo family, in our prayers and surrounding them with lots and lots of love."
