KJRH's newsroom was flooded with emails from concerned parents over a bed bug issue at Booker T. Washington High School today.
One parent shared a notice by Tulsa Public Schools, dated Oct. 7. It says bed bugs are in at least two classrooms, and the entire building will be treated.
The notice also asks students to clear out lockers by the end of today, so a team of exterminators can treat them.
That same team will treat the entire four-story building tomorrow.
During the process, students are also asked to bring “minimal items to school”.
To address rumors of an infestation, the bottom of the notice reads in bold, “We do not have a bed bug infestation at Booker T.”
1,400 students, faculty and staff attend Booker T. Washington High School.
