Monroe Demonstration Academy is working to exterminate bed bugs at the school, according to officials with Tulsa Public Schools.

TPS released a statement today about the incident:

"On Friday, Monroe took precautionary measures regarding the concern of bed bugs at the school, said Lauren Partain, the media relations manager with Tulsa Public Schools. "School administrators worked urgently with the district’s facilities and operations team to ensure that they took all appropriate follow-up steps. A professional exterminator has confirmed that this was an isolated incident at Monroe. Out of caution, the district’s facilities team is working with a local exterminator to fully treat all potentially affected areas and set up monitoring stations."
