Tulsa Public Schools is launching "Keep our Kids in School Week" initiative to "support student success and increase the district's graduation rate".
The staff is focusing on ninth and 12th graders.
"We know that long-term success starts with a great pre-K-12 education and a high school diploma," said Superintendent Deborah Gist.
The district spent the last two weeks trying to locate students who are enrolled, but haven't shown up to class.
The Instructional Leadership Director Stacey Vinson said the district made phone calls, searched on social media and talked to other students "to track down our 'no show' kids".
"Some of these students may have moved out of the district, but for those still living in Tulsa, we want to find out why they're not coming to school and identify resources and supports to get them back," said Vinson.
The team of school leaders will be making home visits from September 12 through September 16.
