TULSA, Okla. — Authorities arrested a suspect after a high-speed chase in a stolen Tulsa police vehicle, according to the Tulsa Police Department.
Tulsa police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Michael Noya Beard.
The joyride began Thursday evening at the Dollar Tree near East 71st Street and South Mingo Road.
Officers responded to a call for two suspicious men in the store, police said. When law enforcement arrived, Beard ran out the back of the business and took off in the police vehicle.
Beard traveled down Highway 169 onto the Creek Turnpike, drove through Jenks and ended at East 96th Street and Riverside Parkway, police said. The stolen police vehicle clipped a curb near the QuikTrip off of Riverside.
No injuries were reported. Authorities said the police vehicle has a broken computer screen.
Police said Beard will be charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding police, malicious injury to property, resisting arrest and driving under the influence.
