TULSA — Tulsa police released the identity of the victim from a deadly road rage altercation that occurred on Feb. 4.

Police say two cars were involved in the incident near East 51st Street and Memorial Drive.

According to the affidavit, the victim and the suspect's cars almost collided as they turned into the parking lot.

The affidavit says at some point both cars stopped sided by side.

Police say a verbal altercation occurred in the parking lot. The victim was accused of throwing a water bottle at 29-year-old Nathaniel Chilcoat's car, says the affidavit.

Then, Chilcoat fired into the victim's car that had two women and a four-year-old child in it, police say.

A bullet struck the victim, 24-year-old Lakeia Gaines, in the upper torso. Gaines was transported to a local hospital, where she later passed away, police say.

Police say Chilcoat was arrested for first degree murder.
